  • 1 year of pain & triumph

Hi everybody, it is been a combination of pain and Triumph for me to learn how to play the guitar. I deal with a lot of pain each and every day my knees and my back. So some days over the last year I don’t recall exactly when I started this process of learning how to play the guitar through Tac but I tried my best to stay on track practice as best as I can, so parts of me feel pretty good where I’m at and and parts of me feels kind of frustrated that it’s taking me so long to get to where I’m at, but I have to understand that I have personal pain struggles every single day. And it’s not so much the pain it’s the psychological dealings with the pain some days I don’t even feel like getting out of bed and I wait till the last minute of the evening to practice usually somewhere around 8:00 or 9:00 but there’s been times been it’s been later. Right now I’m on the chicka boom chicka like I think the last lesson and I feel pretty good about it. So if there’s anybody else out there that deals with physical pain every single day I would just have to say just keep going, take it slow and don’t put any pressure on yourself cuz if you do that you’re going to feel down and depressed. But this has been a better learning process for me other than going to an in-store lesson with a teacher cuz I can take my time and do it on my own pace.

    Thank you,

Sorry that you have to overcome so much to do that thing that we all love to do. Stories like yours help me remember how blessed I am, that I’m able to care for myself and my 93 year old mother who is like you, often not able to get out of her easy chair for more than a few minutes at a time.

You are correct in recognizing that your path is unique and that what you have done thus far is already worth celebrating. Hope you continue to enjoy your guitar journey to the fullest in your second year!

Congratulations. The mental and emotional aspects of playing help us focus outside of ourselves. So kudos to you on your Taciversary. Celebration is part of the guitar journey.
