1000 playing sessions Small win!
Looking back to the start of my Guitar Journey,(my story on AT-191/At235 shows). Small items I learned along the way. Fingers wore out before my enthusiasm to play Who needs a metronome. I told my self, I can play fast enough. I never looked at the music notes. I paid attention but never listened. I started to compete with all the speed chasers, 240 bpm was the my/the goal. What a ship of fools. Don’t get me wrong I was having a blast learning a lot and building my skill set. But not like I should have been. Then It clicked and I started playing Mondays technique everyday and adding the next challenge in. Before the new outstanding week long lessons. I started grouping different lessons together learning to travel up and down the neck. I slowed down and started listening to each note. I felt my fingers dancing softly on the strings and I’m feeling the rhythm now. To those of you new to TAC slow down it’s not a race. Turn on the metronome and let it do it’s job to whatever you are working on. ease up on your grip, stop trying to push the strings through the fretboard. Your thumb is just as important as the others on the fretting hand. Keep it floating in the middle of the neck you get better coverage. At some point start learning the fretboard, or take the course it’s not easy it’s fun and worth the time. Today is also special because it come on Super bowl Sunday. I Played my 1000th session, watching the Flyers before the EAGLES pregame show and then it’s game time. Now matter the outcome today is a Large Win for Me.
PS there should be a shirt with the Yogi Tony logo with 1000 sessions written into the guitar. on a colorful long sleeve shirt. Just a thought Guitar geek club shit.
