  • 1,3,5 vs 1,4,5…..FINALLY!!

Posted by Mrfredsporty on August 1, 2022 at 2:37 am

for months now Ive been hearing folks say things like major chords are made up of 1,3,5 and then I thought I heard others saying that they are made up o1,4,5 ! What the heck ! Finally last night I had youtube on in the background and one of sites said major chords are made up of 1,3,5 and major chord PROGRESSIONS in songs are made up of 1,4,5.BIG difference! I know this is an oversimplification but it sure is another small win for me (and I hope for many of you)

It’s more than a small win when you are figuring this stuff out. I have to backtrack and look stuff up all the time. Good job on this find.

    Sharp ears @Mrfredsporty ! Great win! 🏆😃

If you would like to go down the rabbit hole – look up Nashville Numbering System on Wiki! Also the elusive Fretboard Wizard course provides a solid background in all of this lingo (more formally music called theory) as to how a note scale and corresponding chord scale in that key are built. It is CODEX to the mystery! 🕵️‍♀️
