ok, so you don’t need a death grip for Barre chords? I was at the point of stepping away from this lesson altogether. But then I stepped back to actually look at Tony’s fretting hand in the video. I noticed my index finger just doesn’t lay down across the neck like his. I tired to squeeze harder to get the hi strings to ring but only succeeded in getting a hand cramp. I realized that if I moved the guitar to my left leg I was able to tilt the neck upward and allow my index finger to rest across the neck in a way that I need very little force to get the low strings to ring out. ( I think this is the classical guitar position minus the raising of left foot) I actually got all 3 chords to ring clean! A first for me , not claiming victory on barre chords but this is the first skirmish I was able to walk from with a win.

Nice one D o G. Looks like we had a similar experience on today’s challenge. Well worked.
