Dear tac friends, I hope you will forgive how awkwardly I express this post but it has been on my mind for quite a while. We have a WONDERFUL forum here with lovely people of all types and skills. There are a handful of us who post quite often ( or in my case quite a lot) and there are many others who seldom if ever do. I post because Im excited!. The joy I get from the small wins and experiences is something I cant contain. There are others who are like that as well and you see them here often.. I really am not trying to dominate the site but rather am hoping to have others jump in. Whether to say that they did well that day or have a question about strings. It would be sad if someone does not feel that their opinion is worth listening too.So, this is my awkward and poorly stated invitation to EVERYONE to give it a shot and jump in no matter why or about what things you are thinking. Its kind of like playing in front of folks for the first time. but it is much safer. I would LOVE to see the forum grow and grow. Thanks for putting up with this long winded speech

Well @Mrfredsporty , I come to the Forums first and foremost to watch and listen to members that post in the “Play For Us” Forum. Whether it’s a cover or an original tune, I enjoy watching (and commenting if I feel the need) for several reasons. First, it takes a lot of “guts” to put yourself out there (I know because I’ve done it) so I have some admiration for that. Another reason that comes to mind is that the performances can be inspirational t’boot. Most of us here are playing for family and friends, but some like @RealKurt are striving to become performing artists, and it’s a real treat to have watched them grow their roots here. After that, if I see a member post a question about TAC site content, courses, course content etc., I’ll use my 1.5 years of TAC experience and FW knowledge to help unless others have provided (what I think is) a fitting answer. So there you have my 2 cents!

thank you, Bill. Not only well stated but also giving me another reason to listen to those who are performing. It is true that some have a long way to go but are doing their best and need our encouragement. Some are really advanced musicians and for that reason alone they are worth listening to.Your two cents was worth many times that!

Thank you for your open invite @Mrfredsporty and comments @Bill_Brown . I also share in and regularly read the forums to learn and grow. The more folks we get involved the more enriching the experience will be! The forums are also a key for support and encouragement! 😃😎

I agree completely that reading and occasionally contributing to the forum discussions is one of the best parts of being a TAC member. Sharing in the daily achievements and observations of fellow geeks is truly inspirational! Indeed, I have to watch that I still take time to actually plày my guitar 🎸 😄

I certainly appreciate your comments and your sentiment. It’s interesting that some time ago the forums were very active, with wide-ranging and fun topics engaging a core group of friendly people, as well as a growing number of others who occasionally participated. The site was overhauled and the “rules” for the forums were changed ostensibly because they were “being dominated by a relatively small group” while there were thousands of “TACers” who did not participate with any regularity. Yet, here we are again. Perhaps this is just the nature of things.
