  • beginning to hear

Posted by Mrfredsporty on July 10, 2022 at 5:06 am

A strange but good thing is slowly starting to happen as I listen to songs through my hearing aids (yes I do have hearing loss thanks to military big guns). That is, Im beginning to hear more as i listen. I cant really put my finger on exactly whats happening but there are shapes beginning to appear. Ive never listened this way before. Oh, Thats a nice run. Hmm Isnt that a g run lick?. Oh listen to what he is doing as he plays the melody etc. Its like my mental ears are beginning to open up. That is my small and potentially big win today

Great win @Mrfredsporty ! You are hearing what and how the artist is creating the guitar parts. Cool 😎

That’s an awesome win Mrfredsporty! 👏 I’m struggling with my hearing. In the lesson videos I can’t make out the names of the strings Tony is playing. They all sound the same, so I get lost. I guess it’s time for a tune up on the hearing aid.

Congratulations on your new hearing abilities. 👏 🎼🎸😎

I understand. It’s funny though, I take my hearing aids out when I’m playing because they pick up too much. Hard to explain. I, too, am not always sure what string Tony is talking about until I see his fingers move. Btw, I suggest you go to a real audiologist, not a store that sells hearing aids. Make sure you get Bluetooth enabled. Any way, please follow through for the sake of your ears. Thanks for all your input, stevieblues

Thanks for the comments Mrfredsporty! I see a real audiologist that adjusts my hearing aid frequencies to my needs. Have a great week! 🎸😎

@Mrfredsporty and @stevieblues, Yep, it sounds like you are starting to develop your musical ear. Keep it up. My computer doesn’t have sound, so I have to use head phones. I think they give a nice crisp sound, by blocking out all the other noises that go on in the house. Also when listening to the exercise, don’t be afraid to hit that pause button and rewind. Listen and pause again and rewind. Maybe even print out the lesson and jot notes on it.

Cadgirl thank you. One thing I notice about you is your dedication is awesome. I have a tendency to try and then move on too quickly. I love your posts
