Blatant Plug for TAC (I Love TAC)
I recently posted my 3rd TACiversary and mentioned that I no longer need TAC. I am not going to retract that statement, but I am going to amend the impression it may have given.
I am still growing from the daily challenges more than I would on my own. In fact, I’m really not sure how much I would push my comfort envelope if I had left TAC. Since I didn’t leave, what I do know is precisely how TAC is helping me to grow. Let’s take today as an example.
I have used finger picking for all the daily lessons for several years now. I have made enough advancement with my finger picking that I am willing to start using a pick on the lessons as I did at the beginning when I joined TAC. I would not do this if it were not for friends in the TAC community giving me kind nudges in helpful directions (I’m not gonna mention any names, @jumpinjeff . Your anonymity is safe.) All others, please do not read between the parentheses. 😂
And I’m pretty sure I would not start using a pick if it were not for TAC and lessons like “Argos the Power Dog”. This lick is cool enough that I want to learn it and easy enough for me to use a pick and challenging enough for me to sharpen my flat picking skills. And that particular combination of cool, easy and challenging is pretty typical of Tony’s lessons.
But this lesson also helps with timing, at least for me. Another area I would not even be aware of my need for improvement and so probably wouldn’t do the work. So that is more, continued improvement.
But then there is the regular, everyday help that TAC gives me without me really noticing. At least most of the time. Every day I log into TAC and think about guitar and pick up a guitar and exercise my fingers. I don’t even think about it, it’s just what I do. Thanks TAC.
And then there’s the fairly regular participation in the forum. More thinking about and more doing things that relate to my guitar journey. Thanks TAC.
Did I mention how much I love TAC? Yeah, I just wanted to say that.
MG 😀
