    Broke a string trying to get low E to D

    Hi,

    I was trying to bring my low E down string to a D as Tony requested for this week’s challenge but after many twists I finally got it past an A to a D but not in tune yet when the string popped and broke. Was I doing this the wrong way? Do you think I just had cheap strings? Just wondering your thoughts about it.

    Possibly going the wrong way. I turned mine backwards to get to the D tune.

      Yep, I just learned two lessons today from a great kid from Sam Ash in Cleveland. How to re-string a guitar and I was going to wrong way to alternate tune the low E to a D!
