  • Confused – Blues Shuffle tab/play along

Posted by Roy-Phils on February 17, 2024 at 7:02 am

Hi, am I missing a trick here? I tried to follow along with Tony but he
does not appear to be following the tab……in the Blues Shuffle the
tab calls for one bar of the A section, then D then E. That’s what I
practiced, however Tony is playing 2 bars of each. I could well be
misreading the tab, if so I need to iron it out now. Thanks, Roy

There are 4 rows of staves with tabs on the page. I hope I’m saying that correctly. Tony doesn’t play the 1st row. He starts on the 2nd row or bar 4. He plays bar 4-15 for this challenge.

    Hope that helps.

Hi Kim, thanks for the reply. The answer hit me between the eyes literally half an hour ago! I woke up, looked at the tabs for Week 1 and realised that Tony is playing 12-bar blues, ie the last 3 staves; the first staff is there to show the general pattern.

This fits with all 3 tabs in Week 1.

    Thanks again, Roy
