I know this is a stupid question, but is Tony’s daily challenge intended to be played, without looking at the guitar. I know what Tony says about just ten minutes and move on and the other pointers he brings up, but I just realized yesterday, that I had been working on all of these lessons without trying not to look at the fretboard or the body of the guitar. Except for yesterdays warmup (12/27/2021) when I actually was able to play without looking at .75.

Hi @Dirk_R – Not a stupid question at all. Most people look at their guitar and hands, and Tony has said in past lessons that if you need to look, then look. As you become more experienced and build up muscle memory and have a really good spatial I.d. Of strings and frets, then you’ll find you won’t have to look as much.

You don’t have to memorize but some are kind of cute that I will practice in front of the tv. It’s nice to be able to do it without having a song sheet in front of you. Also you could give it a go and add some extra notes onto it. All good practice.
