  • Does the 30 Day Challenge take 30 days?

Posted by Doug M on August 11, 2026 at 2:21 pm

I’ve done everything for week 1, still working on that blues boogie but that’s it. Next week is GCD chords and I’ve been playing them for years. This is all very basic. So, can I skip ahead? I don’t want to short change myself but I also don’t want to get bored. Is the whole course this basic because if it is I’ve made a big mistake.

Yeah, you can definitely finish it up as quickly as you want.

    Have fun!

I’ve heard some have gone through it in an afternoon. I personally took 19 days, but I purposely held up after 2 lessons since I was a beginner player and didn’t want to overload my brain with too much. On the other hand members have taken 60 days and longer. It’s really up to you.

If you have some picking experience and know your basic chords you can knock it out in a Sunday afternoon. If you are Newbie you will probably need closer to the 30 days to teach your fingers how to form chords and get over the finger tip soreness of continuous daily practice. learn the chord shapes and how to strum/pick your guitar strings. It isn’t a race and each of us has to chart our own course through the lessons.

Some daily lesson can be knocked out in the 10 minute time frame and some of them will need to be revisited many times to help feel comfortable. That what my weekends are used for, noodling and revisiting lessons.
