Exercises for an old and returning guitar student.
Tony, the quick start is impressive and has woken up my fingers. I can’t believe you can play the ascending and descending exercises at 180 BPM! That’s insane. Right now I can play the exercises at 50 Bpm and the Blues rift at 50 bpm but still having problems with clarity. Playing with enthusiasm but need more work on proficiency and to toughen up my old fingers. Finally have my acoustic guitar, a Taylor 114CE, and my metronome, a Korg KDM-3.
I can’t wait to to start the 30 days to play challenge, or perhaps I am confusing the quick start with the 30 days to play challenge? Doesn’t matter, you have invigorated my desire to play! Still slow and waiting for the callouses to build on my fingers but with my daily TAC challenge that will come sooner than later. I have to start again somewhere and now with your TAC I am ready and willing.

Thus far I am playing approximately 45 min. to an hour per day but that is because I am so excited at reentering the world of musicians. As a side note, I grew up with piano lessons with a wind up metronome that required time to be adjusted with moving a weight up or down on a swinging arm. Wish I still had that old metronome but it’s is gone with the wind!
I do have a question however, should I retake the quick start lessons for proficiency or should I move on to the 30 days to play? I am having a hard time to replay quick start lessons 1-5.
Mike
