First VOM
Last night I finally managed to join in with some fellow guitar geeks for the Friday night VOM, and it was very inspiring! Getting to meet and chat with some other enthusiasts was great, and though I didn’t play this time I feel very encouraged by the welcoming environment and very impressed with everyone’s obvious talent and determination. I was a little concerned about navigating the technical stuff since this was my first time on Zoom as well, but all went quite smoothly and I’m now pretty confident that it won’t be too much longer before I get my public performance “baptism”! Thanks to all who were there last night and helped make the experience a very positive one.

This is excellent @GerryB56 . First, it’s really wonderful that you made a start and attended a VOM. Second, it’s great that you found out it’s just not that big a deal technically. Zoom is really easy. Third, you found out how welcoming the VOMs are. Put all that together and it’s easy for you to see yourself joining in again and even playing. That’s just wonderful for you and your guitar journey. But it’s also wonderful for others because you have shared your experience and that may well inspire someone else to give the VOMs a try.
