Guitar Stool Recommendations

This is what I’ve been using. There are some nicer ones with backrests and guitar stands as well. I also always use a strap when playing on the stool.

I use most anything without arms or periodically play standing up for the exercise and practice of performing.

i have 2 retired office chairs that I removed the arms from. One in the music area and one in my bedroom. I’m old and want to sit down when playing and they are super comfortable. Most office chairs have removable arm rests. I did purchase a padded “guitar Stool” but I never have felt comfortable using it.

I used a big therapy ball for years. Not sure it helped or hindered. Now I use a wood seat armless chair. I wait for my butt to hurt and that is my cue to get up and stretch….Hips, back, shoulders, neck, elbows, wrists, and fingers. This method has yet to let me down, it has proven surprisingly advantageous. The wood seat is the key. I can only sit so long.

I’m thinking about the Portal Extra Large Quick Folding Tripod Stool with Backrest Fishing Camping Chair with Carry Strap on Amazon for $35. Reason being I’ve been practicing at my car during lunch and need something compact. Might give it a try. No armrest, has pocket for my phone and lightweight. For lunchtime could be good.
