How I TAC
1.) How many days per week do you play?
I am just starting in to TAC and loving it. We are in COVID lockdown so I’m around home lots and I can fit practices in pretty much every day.
2.) What time of day do you play?
I play in the evening after dinner before it is too late in the evening so I am fresh. If I can, I grab more practice time in the morning on weekends.
3.) Where do you play?
I play in my living room if it is not too disruptive. I am happy to play in the bedroom if there is too much going on in the house to focus.
4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).
So I got out of playing guitar for more than 30 years, not an uncommon thing. I have not had a guitar routine but I have had other routines such as committing to doing yoga at least twice a week. Having a commitment to practice an achievable amount is very helpful. I love the 10 minute commitment of TAC. I have not found myself playing just for 10 minutes but having that minimum makes anything more a bonus.
– I am playing every day but I am committed to practicing 5 days a week for the next 3 months.
– My aim is to solidify some of the basics so my routine includes going over some of the early lessons repeatedly while making sure I am learning enough new to keep it fun.
5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine?
I have a notebook that is my go-to for reviewing lessons and reminding me of those things I want to practice repeatedly. I am still learning all the great features of what is available in TAC resources so maybe one day I’ll have all my reminders on-line – although probably not since I still like pencil and paper for some things
