How i TAC!!
Hello TAC Family. Its so nice to be apart of such a great community of people. Very much looking forward to getting to know everyone!!!
I wanted to show you what my routine looks like 🙂
1.) How many days per week do you play?
For my weekly routine that i have outlined for myself is as followed.
I work a 4 on 4 off schedule.
So at work i get to practice 15 to 45 mins a day at work on my breaks. That for me is normally when i practice my open cords and chord changes. I also do the spider exercise and other little things, as well i also pick away at new songs
When i practice at home i like to do the daily challenge as well as the 30 day to play.2.) What time of day do you play?
For me the times i play are on my breaks at work. So 8am 11am and 2pm.
When i practice at home its normal right after dinner.3.) Where do you play?
For me i feel kind of blessed. Again i get to practice at work. We have 2 levels to our lunch room and for some reason no one ever uses the up stairs. So i have it all to myself.☺☺☺
At home i have 2 places i practice. First i have a area set up in my room that has everything i need. A desk for my ipad, my note book and pens, My picks, tuner, capo etc… and a mirror because i like to watch my finger change cords in the mirror. I find it helps me a lot well giving me confidence with my cord changes.I Also have a chord chart poster hanging on my wall.
When i am at my desk is when i am more focused on a lesson or the course.
The other place is on my couch in the living room. That is where i mostly just mess around and have fun. Pretty much the only time i watch tv is when the hockey game is on. So i play and watch hockey. Lets go Oilers 😉4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).
My guitar life before having a routine was all over the place. With no real structure, focus or goals. I would just throw on any random youtube video. Some of tonys were in that randomness. That’s where i found him!!!
Reason 1. It gave me a good foundation to start with. A daily routine to set my mind on course. ( Having ADHD I definitely struggle with that)
Reason 2
Having a daily challenge has been a great help for me. Making me want to log in and practice even more. I work better when people challenge me. Not sure why🤷♂️ gives me motivation!!Reason 3
Knowing when i have time set aside for my lessons is a huge thing for me. It helps with the discipline needed to learn and achieve my goals. I like many people have a lovely thing in my life called Procrastination but by having a set time for my daily practice i find myself logging on way more often!!5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine?
I’m not sure if i have one of these but i guess my ipad and blue tooth speaker so i can hear the lesson over my guitar.
Oh. I have a picture of my daughter on my desk. Its always there and mostly the only object that always stays there.Guitar Geeks Unite!!! ( Had to keep that. I love that Quote!!! 🎸🤓🤜🤛)
