1.) How many days per week do you play?

    I play between 5 and 7 days a week.

2.) What time of day do you play?

When I play varies depending on my work schedule. If I’m not working, I play in the mornings after my 2 cups of coffee. When I’m feeling extra energetic, I’ll even start after my first cup. 😉 Then I usually play again for a few minutes in the evenings after dinner is cleaned up, usually around 7 or 8pm. On most days that I’m working, I play after dinner.

    3.) Where do you play?

I play in my family room, where my family members keep all their guitars and amps & where the big computer screen is (so I can go through the “30 Days to Play” series). Sometimes I sit and sometimes I stand and/or walk around the house while playing.

4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).

    – Before I started my routine, I would only very occasionally pick up a guitar and goof on it for a few minutes — but I never really learned anything or felt like I was even actually playing. It wasn’t until discovering TAC & setting aside time to learn every day that I have discovered that I CAN actually learn to play. 🙂

    – Making my way through the “30 Days to Play” lessons has been a great way for me to focus on little bitty incremental steps in my learning to play, instead of always feeling totally overwhelmed by so much other stuff to learn. Breaking it down into each lesson (taking notes for some of them) then playing with the run-through multiple times at various slow-to-normal speeds has been super helpful. I will usually review old lessons & then spend some time on a new lesson.

    – Now that I’ve been playing for just a few weeks, I am noticeably building up my callouses & finger strength so that I can play longer in one session. Comparing now to when I first started, I can REALLY see improvement!

5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine?

    – My electronic tuner since I’m still not always able to tune by ear.

    – My guitar journal & a pen nearby so I can write down things if I need a little extra “sticking power” for my memory.

    – My dog! He usually sleeps at my feet as I play. 🙂
