1.) How many days per week do you play?

I been playing almost every day since I joined TAC 364 days ago. I spend time on each daily lesson and try my best to complete them successfully, usually at a much slower speed. Over the weekends I might review the weeks lessons, take one of the TAC skill improvement courses or pick at one of the many midi song files that I’ve downloaded over the years.

2.) What time of day do you play?

I usually play in the late afternoon or early evening. I’m retired so the only real demands on my time come from my wife and any maintenance required on our house or cars. Travel has been out of the question for over a year now. I can usually get what I need to do done by 3PM or so that when I’ll logon to TAC for the daily lesson.

    3.) Where do you play?

I play in a corner in my dining room on a PC. The PC is connected to an entertainment system and a flat screen tv in my living room. Occasionally I’ll connect up and take the TAC lesson from there on a big screen.

4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).

My guitar playing was very inconsistent with no sense of improvement. I would occasionally pick up my guitar and try to play along with a midi file or some other internet exercise but never felt that I was getting any better at playing.

Since I’ve joined TAC the consistency of performing the daily lessons alone has improved my playing. I feel that I’m getting a little better each day and look forward to the next lesson.

I still need to focus better on areas that I need improvement in but I’m having fun again playing the guitar. When I play along with some midi arrangement now the mistakes are fewer and my smiles bigger.

Taking the daily TAC lesson is on auto-pilot now. It’s not something I have to schedule I just do it everyday for the fun and for the learning experience.

5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine?

A hot cup of tea or coffee helps me get started.
