How I TAC by MadHorses
1.) How many days per week do you play?
I am committed to practicing every single day. No matter what. Every day I pick up a guitar. It is my guilty pleasure to set everything else aside and play. No matter what the dogs say. No matter what the cats say. No matter who needs a ride home. Mama is practicing…don’t bother her.
2.) What time of day do you play?
I play every day after dinner. Usually from 7:00-8:00. On the weekends when I don’t have to work sometimes, I will pick up the guitar and play in the afternoon too!
3.) Where do you play?
I play at my drafting table. I know I probably don’t have the perfect guitar posture but hey I can work on that later. This is the interesting part; I keep the last ten lessons open in separate tabs. After I finish with the lesson of the day, I go back over the last 10 lessons. On the weekends I really focus on what I suck at or I play some of my favorites over and over and over. Thanks for the Blues stuff Tony; they are my favorites.
4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).
I have lost a lot of people in my life and most recently my favorite dog. I used to read a lot to get lost in the stories, so I didn’t have to grieve. I started with TAC last April one of my deceased brother’s birthday. April 27 is my one year anniversary as a Guitar Wizard! Rob would be so proud of me. Scott too would be proud of me.
It’s a funny question, kind of like asking what was life like before the pandemic. The pandemic made me work from home, so I had extra time. No commute, gotta love that. Two hours per day of extra time. I decided that it was the perfect time to learn something I have always wanted to learn.
My old life had no guitars. My new life has guitars and I am loving my new soul path. Thanks Tony and staff!
5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine? Glass of water and a hair tie; hydrated and hair up! You know I’m serious about practicing.
