  • Jean E – How I TAC

Posted by JeanE on April 28, 2021 at 5:55 am

1.) How many days per week do you play?

I play at least 5 days a week at the same time, and then on weekends if I do a TAC Virtual Open mic or play with friends. Sometimes if I’m figuring out a new piece of gear I will spend all morning on Saturday immersed and it will be noon before I realize it!

2.) What time of day do you play?

I play right after I get done working for the day, and before starting homework with my son, so usually around 6 PM. Sometimes it lasts 10 min, sometimes a couple hours! (if there is no Math homework!)

    3.) Where do you play?

I play in my office/guitar room….looking more like a guitar studio than an office all the time!

4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).

Before I had a routine I struggled with knowing what to practice. I have books upon books of theory and artists that I’d get 10 pages into before becoming bored. I’d hear a song and want to learn it, and get through the introduction on YouTube but never completely master it.

5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine?

One non-guitar item would be….my trusty computer!! Ha, how else would I be able to do the lessons!

      Hi Dirk,

This photo was taken in Rwanda, Africa in March 2019 when I led a team of 10 women to build a footbridge in a rural town for Bridges to Prosperity. I brought along my trusty Klos guitar, and we played for the townspeople.

You’re an inspiration Jean! With a career and son to raise you still manage to carve out time for your guitar passion AND be a regular performer and Host of VOMs !!

    👏

I love your story, Jean, and that project in Rwanda is an awesome accomplishment. Thanks for hosting VOM and for doing all those other things that you do. You wear many hats. I hope you have a wonderful Mothers’ Day.
