How I/We TAC – Father & Son TAC
1.) How many days per week do you play?
I’ve committed to 5 days per week (Monday through Friday), but usually I’m able to play 6-7 days a week. My Son has committed to 4-5 days a week.
2.) What time of day do you play?
Most days I’m able to play 15 minutes on my lunch break, a great stress reliever in the middle of a busy work day. Then I usually play again in the evening, sometime after dinner, this session is typically 30-60 minutes. My Son plays right after school.
3.) Where do you play?
We play in the living room, no guitar den or music room, yet, but definitely something we’re planning for the future.
4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).
We’ve only been playing for about 3 months. We first started with another guitar app but got stuck, or seemed to stall, after about a month. Then I found TAC and loved the format and all the opportunities to learn and play. A daily challenge provides something new every day, without having to search through so many lessons etc.
I also started with, and am still working on, the 30 days to play. Since we’re just beginning our guitar journey this has been a great starting point and, as advertised, has been a lot of fun. I’ve actually learned to play some pretty cool things – the Blues Shuffle, Blues Baseline, strumming patterns, the Boom Chick and much more.
I also feel like we’ve made more progress in three weeks than we did in the first few months of playing, which makes it fun!
5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine?
Coffee, on my lunch session – I’m also a coffee geek and own an espresso machine, which is probably the only thing that is used more than my guitar. It doesn’t get much better than a freshly brewed Americano while playing TAC.
