Oh gosh… I blame my little brother. He knows I’ve been learning for the past few months not really in secret. Anyway, two of our aunts were in town from out of state who we haven’t seen since dad passed away few years ago so he drove up from downstate for a get-together. Well that bratty brother of mine got someone to bust out my uncle’s guitar (whose house we were at) and when he got to a point where he couldn’t think of what song to play next he hands it off to me like I know what I’m doing. Long story short (too late) I played for people… sorta. Kinda. Maybe two songs I know and one I kinda know. I was supposed to be doing this mainly for me. Is much less stressful sharing with you all since we’re doing this together & I don’t have to be live in person. So that happened and I am still here.

I surprised myself with what I remembered. I mean it was only two or three things if you don’t count my video game one and the batman riff….

@lecassandra it happened and you lived to tell the story! How wonderful!

I’m sure I’ll get put on the spot at some point. My whole family knows I’m learning and I have a son in law who is a music major and for the past 4 years is the music director in the church I am now attending. Another son in law used to lead worship in my previous church before they moved back to Texas recently. They’re good players and I’m not, but they are inspiration for sure!

Thankfully the 3rd son in law does not play, he is music buff though.

It was not supposed to happen so soon or with people I know like that but it wasn’t as bad as I would have expected. Now I am even considering doing it again one day …in the very distant future. And if I don’t that is okay. And if you don’t that is okay. If we all lived closer we could have a jam session!

Way ahead of myself, haha, or at least much sooner than I had planned on ever going live. Thanks

That was such a cool story. Gotta love little brothers, eh? If you’re gonna have to play for someone, it’s probably best to to play for relatives (I’m talking more aunts and uncles than I am cousins, because cousins being the same age can be iffy – at least mine who are brutally honest and not so nice all the time). No matter who it is it can be very scary and it can be very difficult to concentrate I give you a lot of credit. I play for others, and I stll shake a lot.

Yes, mostly aunts and uncles. One or two of my cousins were there but one that we like and haven’t seen in years.
