In the lesson that Tony teaches in Week 4 of the 30 Days To Play series- Simple Steps TO Your First Guitar Solo, Lesson 1, Play Your First Scale, am I correct that he is actually teaching the Pentatonic Scale? I don’t believe he specifically states this. I ask because while the tablature in the downloadable PDF matches what Tony is teaching in the video, the title of the PDF is “Learn The Blues Scale”. I thought the Blues Scale included six (Hex) notes rather than five (Penta). Music theory doesn’t come very easily to me so if I am wrong, I want to understand why.

    Thanks

@KnottyJim That’s a great question. They’re actually the same. The pentatonic scale plus one is what you’re referring to ans the blues scale and the plus one I think is a chromatic note that is called a blue note.
