Is there any better smell than new guitar smell?
I haven’t purchased a new acoustic guitar in quite some time and I must say I am really enjoying the smell of it in addition to the sound. Bought this Bridgeport BG400-CLW-C in November, fully expecting that I would send it back, but it’s my new #1. Cedar top, Walnut back and sides, Ebony fretboard and bridge. $899 Canadian. Arrived here in NJ from Canada in 3 days. Outstanding!

It’s a lovely guitar! Glad you have a new friend to experiment with. Personally, though I think the smell of a new car takes a lot of beating (not that I’ve ever had one).

I thought someone might say that. This beats the smell of new car any day. That’s more of a chemical smell. This is woody and earthy. Unfortunately, like new car, it doesn’t last very long. 🙃

If only computers had scratch and sniff 🙂 I can’t smell it: but that is a gorgeous looking instrument. I’m sure it will bring you many years of delight.

Yep I have been known to stick my big ol’ schnoz deep into soundholes and sometimes at the guitar store, into ones I don’t even own just to experience that sweet perfume. If on the fence it can be a deciding factor. Happy NGD @GuitarGeni !!
