Can anyone tab out the Boogie bass that the girl on the left is playing? I believe they’re playing out of B and E7; i want to do it out of C and G7? Help!

So, @Jnc51 , you’ve already got the idea. The rhythm player is playing B major and E major. Then the other girl is simply playing solo in B and E.

So, if you can play your barre chords, you simply move up 2 frets. Then play the 6th string barre and the 5th string barre. Then if you record that, you can play solo using the Bm pentatonic scale spanning the 7th fret to the 10th fret.

The way that “real” musicians learn is by ear. So, once you’ve found your place on the guitar, use your ear to try to copy them. Of course, you’ll have to use their key to learn the tune. And you’ll have to play the video over and over again. Just start at the beginning and work your way through it.

I, personally, don’t have the desire to do this and I don’t have the experience to do it quickly. So this is the best I can do for you.

I really don’t agree with the learning by ear thing; although I wish I could do it. I think my best approach to learning is knowing the theory that goes along with it, then a piece of music makes sense. I play bass in a for fun rock band. Three of us, guitar, drums and me on bass. The guitar player is a good player but plays by ear, he’s the leader of the band so picks the songs. He can never tell me the key or progression of the song, yet I need to know in order to play bass. I generally watch and follow him. If he knew a little theory and understood the Nashville Number system, it would make my life easier. I find it very frustrating trying to learn a song by ear, but that’s just me.
