  • Moving to week 2 on the 30 days

Posted by Grayfox on January 12, 2024 at 8:48 am

So I’m getting better on the first week. But I’m far from perfect. So do I still move to week 2 on Monday? Or stay with week 1. I will keep practicing on each week even when I’m done with the 30 day challenge. What should I do? Stay on 1 or move to week 2.

Forward progress over perfection is Tony’s theme.

It is ok to move on. All of the techniques will come back around through the Daily Challenges once you get there.

I’m coming up on the end of week 2. Every time I sit down I start back on week 1 and rehearse the Shuffle, the Baseline, and the Boogie again and again with play through before moving on to the next lesson. This beginner is hearing improvement and I’m starting to smile, a little bit anyway. I’m still hitting wrong strings but getting better. The chords are getting easier too. At 67 these fingers are starting to listen. Amazing!

Same here. I played some guitar (and mandolin) a long time ago so I have some background in chords and picking, but want to make sure that I’m not carrying over bad habits from my self-taught days. To avoid that, I’m doing the entire 30-day challenge, but doing it at a faster pace. To make sure I’m getting it all down, I repeat every exercise at least once every time I practice. I am already noticing my fingers starting to gain strength and calluses after less than a week. I wish I had started this class a long time ago.
