1.) How many days per week do you play?

    Well, usually 3-5.

Unfortunately, i might only get onto TAC once a week. Before i get Boo’d off the stage let me defend. I play on 3 different Worship teams at church. I typically have to learn 3-5 songs a week. Most of them, i have never even heard before. I have anywhere from 10 days to 48 hours to figure out all the songs, depending on when i receive the music. I might also mention that i play with both male and female leads, so the keys are all over the place. I am what you could call a beginning intermediate player( i can strum along). So this is quite a stretch. Breaking Tony’s rule #1 and not having a routine 🙁

2.) What time of day do you play?

Another bad question, i work shift work. So, my days are inconsistent. I do like playing in the morning when my girl goes to school. But, i find that my evening sessions out in my garage/studio are the most productive. Breaking Tony’s rule #2, not having a routine 🙁

    3.) Where do you play?

Once again breaking Tony’s rules. I play in the house or in my garage/studio. Wherever i left my guitar last, lol.

4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).

I really wish i could get into that routine. I see the value in it, i want to make my sessions valuable.

I spent hours and hours of pouring over endless tutorials of how to play “this and that” just so i could keep up on a Sunday. I like Tony’s approach to playing the guitar. I see huge value in not just strumming the same ole 1-5-4 progressions. But expanding my ability to “play” a guitar. Finding strings when i want them, tying keys together and using other shapes to make chords. Using all of the notes available to actually play songs like they are intended to be played.

I will say, the lessons that i have completed have improved my playing. I am finding that i can stretch for some of those 4 finger chords(not all of them-F7;)

I can find some of the strings when i want to try some picking, bass line or arpeggio.

Its making me think outside of the box for progressions and for melody ideas.

I have been playing for about 2 years, i started on stage right away after picking up a guitar. The other players have commented that over the last few months, my playing has improved. Hmm coincidence??? Thats when i joined TAC.

5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine?

I agree with Tony, coffee is essential during the day. When i do my evening sessions, i tend to lean on another cold brown beverage(my limit is 2) my playing gets awful if i have more.lol.

This is me in my my garage. I have a full PA, 2 electric guitars, bass guitar, amps, and 2 drum sets(acoustic and electronic) I started my musical journey as a drummer.
