  • My First official TAC Week.

I showed up every day. I had my first exposure to hammer-ons and pull-offs and they need a tremendous amount of work but it will come. I thought “Oh Wagon Wheel I already play that”. 🤣 I don’t play it this way my way is more root-strum. So it was quite the adventure to learn the new strum pattern with its pauses. I also found myself at times getting frustrated and feeling like I should be able to pick things up faster than I am or able to complete the daily challenge especially when I spend 40 minutes on it, but I’m not able to and I think it is a small win or even a big win to not let that frustration grow, but instead recognize you are where you are, you learn how you learn and it is going to take time. So be proud you showed up, you practiced and you’re giving it your all. I’m so excited to see where I am a year from now. Happy Playing everyone, and Tony…You are awesome. I’m so glad to be here.

Preach on! TAC is fueled by fun not mastery so you are on the right path. Thanks for sharing your joy.

Hi @Joyfinder Welcome to the TSPAC community! Sounds like you jumped right in and are off to a great start. As an fyi, I play WAGON wheel with a Bass strum too. It’s a fun song, but it’s always good to learn new skills and ways of doing things.

You have the right attitude. We’re a program of progression, not perfection. Give it a good go (at a minimum 10 minutes per day) and mark a lesson complete. You can still work on it more if you like, but don’t stop moving forward. Move to the next lesson the next day. You will see progress and improvement.

Enjoy your journey. If you haven’t considered it, ai highly recommend the 30 Days To Play course, even if you already have some experience. It’s a great primer, and most find that they still learn something new.

Hi Lorraine so nice to meet you. Thank you for confirming for me that I should keep moving on each day even though i often dont have it down. I agree with you about the 30 day to play it was great. i did that and then the 5 day challenge then started my first regular challenge. i have been hearting them so I can go back and practice the ones Im not really getting but that may not be possible as every day there are new challenges. I practice everyday usually. it was wild trying to learn wagon wheel a different way my brain really struggled but totally agree learning new things and ways of doing things and developing diversity is both exciting and challenging but really necessary to improve. Hope you have a great day.

We all experience frustration because our reality doesn’t meet our expectations. Great job recognizing the frustration and not letting it get to you. It will all come in time.
