I’ve got a very odd work schedule with unpredictable travel and hours. There are times I may not be home for a week. Because of this I know that I need to make my playing time and space flexible.

I’ve noticed with other things that I’m aware of, and motivated by, streaks.

The main page of TAC really helps me with this by showing me the number of days in a row I’ve played.

I use this as my trigger by logging in when I wake up. The pages then shows me that I’ve “played” that day.. and I don’t want to be a liar, so I make sure (even on the busiest days) to play for 10 focused minutes.

I’ve had days where I’ve gotten ready for bed and checked myself to make sure I’ve played. And when I hadn’t I picked the guitar up and made sure it happened.

I’m now 42 days in and I’m making it work. From home or hotels I’ve played every day.

@mcarlson_sb , it sounds like you have a good routine going for yourself. Just keep the guitar out where it’s easy to get too. Could you get a travel guitar to take with you? i have a small Washburn Rover that has a pretty solid case. It’s cloth, but styrofoam surrounds the guitar. I swear i can drop it off the side of a building and i think it would be ok. But tossing it in the backseat isn’t a worry. I don’t know about flying with it? I know there are size requirement for taking on a flight. @Moonhare , I think you have a Washburn Rover, do you have any flying experience with it?

Yes. @Cadgirl the Rover is great. I’ve taken it with me as carry-on on several flights (and more coming up this month)

It was actually my first acoustic guitar.

Used to be my hardest to play – but with a proper set up about a month ago, and some tips on using the strap, it’s become one of my easiest.

    Great for hotel room playing.

The guitar strap is a must with it. Glad you like it. I bought mine used. But, perfect condition.
