My Routine by the numbers
My Routine will be
1.) How many days per week do you play?
I practice 5 days a week, and play every day
2.) What time of day do you play?
* Daily Challenge in the morning after work in the morning arround 5:45 AM – 10 minutes
* When I wake after a cup of coffee – Fretting hand toolbox about 12:30 PM – 10 minutes
*Practice FBW skills etc for 10 minutes after supper, before I brew my coffee for work about 5:30 PM
* Monday afternoons (I am off Monday nights) study FBW material 30 mins
[PLAY TIME AND ENRICHMENT… THE FUN]
* Saturday (or whenever I can squeeze in time) Just play and enjoy the instrument
* Sunday – Uke Day!! (oh and maybe learn harmonica or dulcimer)
3.) Where do you play?
This will be done at my tiny Desk in my room.
4.) How has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).
* My Bed is made every afternoon. No really it is because I can’t practice if my bed is a mess
* I learned to use the pick astonishingly (to me) quickly by doing it every day.
* I am slowly becoming able to control performance anxiety. I can pull myself back when I begin to derail… still mistakes though.
Practice and the VOM nights help with this.
5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine?
* Good Sleep. It is hard to come by, but it has a huge impact on motivation and retention of skills and knowledge. Best I can do is a set sleep schedule even if it isn’t enough most days
The kids are out of the house so no one to take my picture, but here is my practice area.
