  • My TAC Routine

Posted by rocha1573 on April 30, 2021 at 8:59 pm

Hi everyone, this is my current TAC routine… as always, posting this late! Man, ok, here we go:

1.) How many days per week do you play?

I am playing Monday to Friday, my goal is to at least play 10 minutes, as a minimum but also could be a day I just don’t want to play, so at least 10 minutes keeps me engaged and doing the habit.

2.) What time of day do you play?

My set time is around 3:30 PM, but depending on how the day is going I will move it. This is specific to TAC, if I want to play later on just strumming and singing something, I will do that (not that I sing any good hahaha). But I do like to play other stuff, especially songs I learned way back when I was learning.

One of the reasons for doing TAC, is I always felt stuck in those years, learning new things is helping me to stretch in a good way :).

    3.) Where do you play?

I play in my kind of office room, I will sometimes take my guitar to the living room, but most of the time I will be here in my little corner. Mostly because my computer is here, easy to grab tabs to see or look for songs. I will use my iPad when in the living room, but I rather have my computers in front of me. I also have a keyboard/piano behind me, and I will switch from guitar to it when I just want a different sound.

4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).

I was stuck before having a routine, always playing the same thing over and over again. Doing TAC is helping me with:

    – Creating a good habit of practicing. Being able to learn more than just chords, is awesome. I always struggle with scales, but now I feel I am just navigating the fretboard a little better.

    – As I said before, stretch outside the same repetitive stuff. Being able to connect with the guitar much better, and also challenge me to get rid of some bad habits.

    – Dedicate time and focus to something I really love.

5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must-have in your guitar routine?

Hmm, I am not 100% sure on this one. I would say my cat hahaha, she is an amazing company and a great audience.
