Next Steps
Posted by Mitchell S on February 14, 2022 at 9:16 pmHi,
Just finished the 30 Days and Your Next 6 Chords courses.
What do you suggest as next steps? Which courses? Daily challenge?
Thanks
Mitch

Congrats on completing the 30 days to play and the next 6 chords Mitchell. I do suggest the daily challenges. They’re a great way to be introduced to many different types of playing and foundational skills. You’ll get your 10 minutes per day in by doing the dailies. Other than that, I would suggest looking in the Skills section at all the courses and possibly choosing one that interests you. I began the Skills courses by taking the Jumpstart to Fingerpicking, Jumpstart to Flatpicking, and Jumpstart to Strumming. They gave a really good introduction into those skills. Good luck and I hope your enjoy all the courses.

I’m with @Loraine , those are all good courses. Remember with the daily challenge, when the month is up those challenges disappear. I save them to my hard drive in a folder called, Daily Challenge. The naming follows this format; ‘date-name of the challenge-technique’. For an example I saved today challenge as “2-15-2022 Head-Over-Heels GUITAR LICK.pdf”. Also if it’s a lick that is confusing, Take your IPhone out and make a video out of it and save it in the same folder. We used to be able to download the video but those days are gone. You’ll be surprised how fast you forgot how he did a confusing lick. Good luck and welcome to TAC.

I’m only a week or two ahead of you and was also unsure where to go next after “Next 6 Chords”. Someone here suggested the “5-Day Guitar Routine Challenge” in the “Skill Courses” and I think that’s turning out to be a good next step for me. Tony explains the purpose of the regular Daily Challenge mix by using an actual examples of the five focus areas. I suggest you try it.

@Ron49, Kristen1 advised me to go through the 5 days to play. I just completed that yesterday, and I do advise doing this. I learned a lot, and have now gone back through the 30 days to play to work on a few items I feel I rushed through. I’ll now start the daily challenges, and also begin working on a couple of other skills courses.
Thanks @Kristen1!
