I was a member of a Northern Virginia Jam Club (I believe the Springfield Pickers). I never got to go as a result of the COVID pandemic. Just wondering if anyone knows whether that Jam Club still exists outside of TAC or if there are any other jam clubs in NOVA anyone can point me to?

On a related note, I am really feeling the loss of community as a result of the new forums/website. [SIGH]. Thanks all and keep on strumming!

Stacked and Staggered was the club. I had been a few times to the jams. Not sure if Chuck or anyone else in that group has thought about reforming/continuing on, but it was definitely a good time with a good group of people. My understanding is there was a choice to not continue the Jam clubs within TAC with the new forums/site, but perhaps by getting this thread going we could get some of those folks to exchange info or setup some sort of Google group (or something else) to organize jams again post-covid.

We haven’t met, but I can imagine an outdoor get together before too long. There is a lot of cross-pollination with Friends with Strings from the Philadelphia area, also. I’m pretty sure we can locate the usual suspects, but unfortunately Chuck H has moved to Florida.

I appreciate your view about the new website. I have to believe that the new direction is to encourage the social community, while letting or expecting the community to support itself. The virtual open mics are thriving, and I am wondering how long it will be before more of the social aspect is established on fb and Instagram.
