O Bury Me Not On The Lone Prairie

Hi folks…I’ve been working on this for a couple weeks and had worked out a solo in the middle and thought I’d share. These ‘Carter’ style breaks are so much fun & a great challenge to work out. I took my inspiration for this from Colter Wall who has a couple good performances of this up on YouTube.

I’m playing my new Waterloo WL-S that I’d picked up about 3 weeks ago. While this song sounds great played on a dreadnought, there’s something haunting about the woody/boxy tone of this little guitar that seems quite suitable for this tune. And the short scale makes it easy to play too! Highly recommend one of these if you ever get the chance to play/purchase one.

Wow, @TimK1, I liked everything about that. Great baritone voice, great guitar tone, great picking, and a classic Western song that takes me way back.

  So glad you liked this @Maydog …I appreciate you taking a listen and the encouragement! I grew up on a steady diet of old Westerns so these songs resonate with me even though I’ve never ridden a horse in my life 🤠

Got to get you out west here for Stampede when this pandemic is all over! A very soulful western tune. Nicely played and sung, as per usual.

wonderfully played @TimK1 Your voice sounds great in the lower registers. Liked the solo bits in between.

  Thanks @ErikBog …thanks for listening…I was quite pleased with the solo bits. I couldn’t replicate exactly what Colter does in his videos exactly so I just did what my abilities allow for. Hoping to do some more of this style of playing in the future!
