Original “Spinning” SNL VOM 1-29-22
Posted by TMutter on January 30, 2022 at 8:15 amI wrote this song based on a strumming and chord progression pattern I was playing with to improve my strumming speed. My intent was to have the song just be on the edge of spinning out of control…… hence the name “Spinning”. It’s a fun song to try and actually get through without flying apart !😆

You did such an awesome job on this @TMutter . It was so fun to watch you play this. Great all around performance!

Thanks Loraine, that was actually one of the few times I made it through that song start to finish – it was close a couple of times of falling apart 😅

That was a great performance TMutter! 👏 It was really moving along there.

funny – as much as I am always concerned about the tempo …. I always speed up as the song progresses ! 😝

That was great…I got tired just watching your strumming. Seriously though your strumming was spot on through the whole song. Well done!

Thanks for listening! It helps that the first 30 years of my music life I was a percussionist before ever picking up a guitar. I have to remind myself occasionally my guitar is not a drum – well it kind of is, but I try to be a little more gentle with it !😆

I’ve heard that Dave Grohl says he plays guitar like a drummer too! It’s all about the rhythm. I think that is definitely a strength having that background.

I’m amazed by your creative output, Terry! Keep it going, man!

thanks for listening !
I am so glad I have a guitar and this community to have some way to express myself – not sure where else it would go!😆

Thanks for that one. Bad enough you have to play that fast but to do it at an open mic takes guts (or stupidity 🤔). Just blistering good fun. Great song too!
