I’ve done better, and I’ve done worse. I will not tape more than 4 times, so here ya go. I learned to strum by feeling the song as ai played it. It actually came quite naturally and is happening more and more often with songs. The dang Bm keeps tripping me up, but I’m getting better at transitioning to it. Still a work in progress. Loraine, that was great. really impressive to play through that whole song with the strumming patterns and all. I have a lot of work ahead of me to get there. I will try to look that one up and see if I can start working on pieces of it to get it close. Thanks for the suggestion and great work taking that video. I know every time I have tried to video my hands seem to forget everything I practiced!

Thanks @Fret_Nothing ! I love this song, and it came fairly naturally, and I say fairly, because the strum pattern was based in feel and I just let it flow. The chord transitions are getting better. It’s a fun song to play!

@Loraine, good job! I tried to learn this because it is one of my all time favorites. I gave up – just couldn’t get past the frustration with the chords. Then I turned to a finger style version of the song. Gave up on that and put it away. Put my guitar aways for a few months as well. So I will try again. You are a guitar warrior – you battle through and don’t back down. Bravo!

@SherryH It is a great song, isn’t it. Sometimes it takes putting a song to the side for a while and revisiting it at a later time, and you may be surprised that it comes easier the second or third go around. I find fingerstyle so much more difficult than strumming. It doesn’t help that I have essential tremors and it makes it difficult to do. My fingers don’t cooperate. I’m envious of those that can do it so effortlessly. Don’t give up on it if it’s a song you love. It just may take a while to get under your belt

As for perseverance, the acoustic is something I’ve loved and wanted to play for a long time. I had a parent that always said I wasn’t very good at things, but they’re not around anymore to influence me. Playing the guitar has not come easily to me, but I put myself out there a while ago that I was going to show the good and the bad, and it has helped me get better. I’ll never be a great player, but I’m enjoying the ride and having fun. That’s all that matters. To those that shame others, shame on them. We’re all in this together and to support each other and boost each other on our journeys.

@Loraine, I admire you so much. You are so brave to put yourself out there in order to learn and get better. I am so timid and really afraid to put myself out there. I find it really endearing when you kind of chuckle at yourself if something doesn’t go quite the way you want. I can see that you accept your journey as it is with the bumps and all. It is a lesson for me. Keep going girl; it helps me to keep going.

Nice job! That B minor can be tricky for me also; but you were landing it without looking. Way to go! That’s a classic.

Really appreciate the positive critique @Philbo . The Bm isn’t a a top tier chord, but it is a next tier chord that is in so many songs. I still have some work to do on it, but I’m determined, and just depends on what side of the bed I get out of that morning 🙂
