    1) How many days per week do you play?

I am committing to practising for a structured 30 minutes, 5 days per week. Any extra time is for fooling around.

    2) What time of day do you play?

I’m still trying to figure out the best time for me. I’m going to try out practising right after lunch. Eat, make coffee, take coffee to guitar den, practise.

    3.) Where do you play?

I am very lucky to have a dedicated practice space in our den. It is away from all distractions and has a door that closes.

4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).
I have been playing guitar for most of my life, but stuck in a really big fat rut. I would dream about progressing but never get anywhere. I’ve taken lessons in the past, but without consistent practice it all fell by the wayside.

Even after only a few weeks I can see how regular practice has:

    1. Improved my skills – a lick or scale that I struggled with last week is easier to play this week. That kind of encouragement is really motivating.

    2. Improved my understanding – The Fretboard Wizard course was awesome! Better understanding of the Nashville number system and chord structure gives me a feeling of mastery. Maybe I can write some more interesting stuff in the future, and may be I can join in on a jam session some time soon.

    3. Improved focus – I feel less overwhelmed because I have a plan that is manageable and fun.

<b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>5) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine?

After watching the 90 Day Challenge Party I have decided to –

    1. Move my laptop into my practice space so that I am not shuttling back and forth between my computer and my practice space – too many opportunities for distraction!

    2. Start a Practice Journal – as suggested by Sharon.

    3. Bring a mug of coffee, as suggested by Tony.
