  • Should I keep my Bravo BC-20n Acoustic Guitar?

Posted by BrandonK on March 9, 2024 at 2:00 am

I would love your help considering I am still extremely new to guitars. Someone gave me a Bravo BC-20n Acoustic Guitar a while back and I was wondering should I keep it or give it to someone. I am just not sure if it’s valuable or not. I have looked on a few sites that people are selling older ones. They appear to be selling used for about $80 CDN.

    What do you recommend?

Also, so you know I have two other guitars:

    1. Older Takamine Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar – EG340SC

    2. New one I just bought – Taylor GS Mini Hawaiian Koa Plus which I love!

Keep the Bravo. I also have an – intentionally bought – very cheap guitar that I can take with me anywhere without feeling guilty about what the guitar has to go through.

And trust yourself with the other guitars. As long as you can reach the correct fretting positions with not to much diffculty and YOU like your guitar in general and its sound everything is OK. At least the Taylor will probably pass this standard. And later this year your friend might play your guitars to you- and you can find out just how good they can sound and if you want to keep them all.

Right now Just concentrate on playing your 10 minutes. There is no need to optimize everything right now. Everything will fall into place allmost automatically later. Trust the process.

      Thanks Kristin,

      I really appreciate your insight.

I am just running out of space in my apartment. That is why I am trying to be efficient with my space. If I am not going to use the guitar, I was thinking of donating it. As well it goes out of tune pretty quickly.

I feel I am good with the larger Takamine and then my smaller travel Taylor GS which I use daily now for my 10+ minutes of practice.

how about donating it to a school for some kids to learn and have fun?

For sure! I have had a few friends say keep it because it has nylon strings and will have a different sound. I didn’t realize that it would have a different sound.

You might also keep the guitar and leave it in an alternate tuning so when lessons or songs come up you are ready to play. I keep one on a wall hangar for just such times and so it saves space and is convenient and a decent decoration.

      Thanks Albert,

I have two on the wall right now as you can see here. I don’t have much more wall space in my room. That is why I was thinking about donating it.

I think donating is an awesome way of passing on the magic to someone else that may not be in a position to buy their own guitar. A school did a great idea. If it was valued higher, I’d say Guitar for abets, but they simply auction off all the used guitars in order to purchase all the new guitars that they donate to the G4V players who make it through, I believe , at lease 3 live lessons. You could always sell it for a minimal w,ointment or give it away free on something like Facebook Marketplace.
