small win
My small win was last Saturday,every year for the last seven years the last Saturday of August is international play on the porch day for world peace so for the last seven years I took part sometimes my neighbor joins me and sometimes not.As a 80 year old viet vet I play my guitar, not very good but I do it any way its important to me , thanks for reading this and play on brothers and sisters of the guitar journey👍.

Very cool, and congrats on the win! Sounds like a great idea, and good motivation. I hate practicing when my wife is home, and I’d never even consider going outside where the neighbors could hear the noise I’m making right now. 😜 Maybe going on the back porch next year for International Play on the Porch Day would help motivate me to get better!

You will have a lot of fun, my beagles go out each day when its shady and spend a couple of hours ,sometimes the local deer stop by and listen so it cant be too bad.Lots of luck on your guitar journey Scott

I play on the porch every morning. I just loved your comments and the original post. I knew about that day and I didn’t even think to play. I should’ve done that. I must tell you that all your guys insights and wins and struggles are really helping me to keep going. I wanted to play guitar ever since I was a little girl and now I’m 71 and I’m finally learning it’s slow and sometimes I think why am I doing this but it’s giving me something so special.

I am 80 and know I will never be a rock star except in my own mind and I have learned that you never master the guitar, its a rest of my life journey that I really have a great time doing, just enjoy the trip and have a great time
