    Maybe small win!?

For the very first time ever— I put the strap on my guitar and tried playing while standing. Was a few of the “easier lessons’ from recently.

Well– it was harder and quite a bit less accurate than sitting- but it wasn’t ridiculously tough!- (I was actually surprised).

I think it’s something I could get used to over time…..

Gonna do this once a week or so for now- maybe more later as I don’t really have a need for standing.

Just wanted to give it a try.

    Thanks– Mark J

@Mark That a good win and I’m with you about it bringing in a new dimension to the playing game. I have tried it on several occasions only playing things im very comfortable with sitting down…. For me I have to get the strap adjusted just right. I think you have a great strategy trying it on a weekly basis…. I think I’ll join ya on this one…Cheers

Yeah- like I said- it was harder but not super-hard. Maybe more-so just different. Just kind-of out of my comfortable, sitting-down position. Playing is playing- but the perspective is certainly different. Whole body position is different along with arm position– and certainly viewing the fretboard also.

      Thanks- MJ

    Hey Mark,

I’ve been forced to stand because of some back and arm pain. It wasn’t nearly as hard as I remember it being! I have no idea why.

@Mark, Great #smallwin . Wait until you become the strolling though the (pick one) house, garden, yard, street, town troubadour. And to make it easier, you might try using the strap at the same place sitting and standing. I have never found trying to play at my knees was very workable, but having the guitar always at the same place, now that seems to help me.

That’s hysterical !!!– because there actually is a guy that walks around in our neighborhood while playing his guitar. His nickname of course is “guitar man”.

      I’ve never talked to him………. people kind-of avoid him🤨……

Mark, consider yourself lucky. We once had a neighbor who fired up a chainsaw at 2am and walked up and down the street daring people to come out and turn it off for him.

He also howled at the moon—literally—on a regular basis.

        Poor guy.

        We moved…
