Starting and then travelling
Posted by Adventure_Girl on December 5, 2023 at 2:40 pmSo, I knew I would be traveling for two weeks when I signed up for the program. Now I am tossing around the idea of bringing my Traveler Guitar even though I am traveling SUPER-light. I am hooked and don’t want to be without a guitar or break my momentum for two whole weeks. I need some encouragement to bring the dang thing!

If you’re hooked you should bring it! travel guitars are light enough, right? 😉

I agree, a travel guitar will still allow you to travel light, and why break the momentum? Once hooked, keep at it and have fun!

Thanks! I almost didn’t bring it, but I did. Pleased to say I have played every day but one.

My Martin Backpacker has been all over North America with me. Take it. You’ll make friends wherever you go.

I have taken an old, cheap, no-name, “smaller” guitar along on some trips- (but they were “road-trips– no flying involved). Never taken one on a plane, and wouldn’t, unless I had one of those really cool, “folding” kind.
Maybe another variable is- “what KIND” of adventure are you going on? A cruise? Hotel/condo-ing it? Hiking in the mountains for two weeks? Taking a computer? Will you actually have enough time and opportunity to justify taking it along?
Even if you DON’T take your guitar along, you can still pack along a couple of guitar-workbooks- (or whatever), check-in w/TAC- (laptop or however), and stay up-to-speed with the “learning-parts”, and/or play learning-mind-games in your head, etc, etc.
Whatever you decide/ whatever your adventure…… have a fun, safe trip.

I have a Klos that has a removable neck and fits into a backpack (see my profile picture). It goes everywhere with me when traveling airlines, easily fits into the overhead or even my checked luggage. Also Carbon Fiber so little concern getting damaged.

I did bring my electric traveler guitar. I am pleased to say that I have played every day but one. It isn’t my sweet Martin. I am playing it unplugged but I am playing.
