  • Struggle is a Reminder of Progress

Posted by AttyTJ on May 10, 2022 at 1:18 pm

i have been working and recording something each day since February 13 (and I admit, most don’t land here, but some do). A huge #smallwin for me today. I have been doing well at getting songs under my fingers and even improving voice, but today was an exception. I did not struggle for lack of practice and effort, it was because, well, sometime s*** happens. So, why a win?

Because today is a reminder that however hard we work at it, and whatever time we devote, this instrument requires humility. You can play brilliantly one day, and then next, for whatever reason, not so much. Today was not a brilliant day for me, but it reminded me that if I want tomorrow to be one, I have to continue work at it. No assumptions allowed.

And, although what I struggled with today had never before been part of the plan, by looking back the last 3 plus years, I can see the progress I have made, and when next I put this on my plate, the result will be better. Why?

That is the beauty of the win today, because I know my continuing effort will allow progress, and when next it appears, my work will make it so.

    Thanks for listening.

Thank you for your vulnerability, @AttyTJ . Also thank you for reminding us to look back and celebrate the progress we have made!
