Thanks for sharing this Loraine. You played it beautifully! I am impressed with your consistency with the driving rhythm and your strumming technique. Well done!

Loraine-
Thanks for sharing this!
One of my favorite songs thru the years, and I love that jangly “ring” of a 12-string!
I really like playing mine- it makes me really have to concentrate on exact finger placement and transitions from chord to chord.
I’m not where you are yet with the playing and singing- but I’m workin’ on it!
Thanks again-

Thank you @the-old-coach ! This is a favorite of mine too. The 12 string is a lot of fun, and the drone chord (E chord with E7 on upstroke) sounds great on the 12. You’ll get to the point you can play the 12 string without a lot of thought of finger placement at some point down the road. Keep practicing and it becomes second nature.

I love Gordon Lightfoot. My wife got me tickets to a live performance in Austin some years back and the evening is a special memory for us. You look like you are having fun with playing not only Lightfoot but a new guitar with lots of strings to tune. Thanks for previewing that 12 string for us.

Great performance @Loraine ! You and the Orangewood 12 seem to be getting on quite well! I also heard your voice inflections coming through on this performance as well.
I really like Gordon Lightfoot and had forgotten about him until I listened to your performance. Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed the performance @Kitman , and thank you for the kind words and for indicating that you were able to discern inflection in the vocals. That means my practice isn’t for naught. And yes, I’m enjoying the 12 string a lot. Who woulda thunk?!? 🙂

@Loraine , A new guitar!! Good for you! And an awesome song to break it in with. Good strumming and singing!

Aw, I’ve missed you. Thanks so much @cadgirl. The guitar is so much fun to play. Picking on it is another story completely, so I’ll be sticking with strumming on it. Hope you are well.
