1.) How many days per week do you play?
I play 7 days a week…unless I don’t. This week has been a trainwreck. The answer to my re-written question is that I have a GOAL to play 7 days a week. 3 months without a play-day gap is my reach goal.
2.) What time of day do you play?
In the days of COVID I play mid-day. This is anywhere from 11AM – 2PM. In the pre-Covid days I had my other guitar at the office. I would play in the storage closet (where no one would see me or bother me) at 3PM.
3.) Where do you play?
My spot is in the living room on the couch; in bedroom on the bar stool; at the kitchen table; in the garage (wherever I think I may not be interrupted). We have a small house. Invariably the other three of us find ways to love me up so much! (my 15 year old boy might tackle me; my 17 year old girl will drop in and tell me all about it; my wife loves that I am learning something new AND appreciates some attention too). HA !
4.) What was your guitar life like before having a guitar routine & how has implementing a consistent guitar routine helped you? (if possible name 3 ways).
Well, my previous answers reflect that I have wonderful people about. So, regardless the intent, I am redirected (ahem – interrupted) and then I’ve got to find my mojo all over again. Back to the question at hand: before guitar I wasted time being bored and filling time with low quality activity like TV and cruising the internet. Now that I have a pseudo-guitar routine, I look forward to the fulfilling, active, complacency-busting activity of guitar itself
Guitar helps me: quiet my anxiety; focus my mind; support positive self esteem through small wins.
5.) Bonus Question: What is one non-guitar item that is a must have in your guitar routine?
My i-pad. How else would I access the Daily Challenges?
Bonus answer: The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto: a book by Mitch Albom
