Great performance Kevin, Does the pattern you use (hybrid between fingerpick, strum, and percussive slap) just come naturally, or is iit basically a conscious choice and effort based on each song?

Thanks to be honest I listen to the originals then play finger picked then flat picked basic strum once I have that down I add effects pinchs hammer ons slaps. When I play unplugged just try and carry the song somewhat like the original. Normally the original has multiple instruments I have 1. So the goal is make 1 sound like many lately I have been adding note runs highlights. Hope to start soloing sections soon in all my songs. I purposely add effects to make it sound more dynamic hope that answers your question. Thanks so very much for listening in and commenting. Very much appreciated

It helps to understand the process. You’re much more advanced than me. I don’t thing zimadd much of anything except a slide here and there and some hammer-ons. My pull offs don’t sound right, so I avoid if possible.

I would like to help you I know how hard it is so one of the things I have been using is an app called Chordify. It shows the chords the timing you can change keys or add capos huge song database. It allows you to play with the band without all the attitudes from the band members when you are not as skilled. I had to kind of beg a chance to play with a band only to made to feel bad. Had to beg to be told the chords of the song or the key. Basically they told me I couldn’t play with them because them helping me was ruining the quality of their show. So I figured there is more than 1 way to skin a cat also built in metronome and root change tone 25 bucks well worth it.
