I have committed to at least 10 min + a day – 5 days a week and most of the time moves into the weekends as well. I am a morning person therefore 10 am works great for me.

I play guitar in my home computer room; however, I prefer the acoustics in the bathroom.

Before I start my guitar playing I have found a great routine.

I take 3 deep meditation breaths in and out to quiet my mind, relax my body and allow inspiration to begin. I celebrate my wins.

I have been trying to play guitar since finding peace of mind listening to a buddy play Alice’s Restaurant, in a bunker, under rocket and mortar fire in Viet Nam. Years passed profession and family were a priority for me. I started playing chords and basic songs with my 5 kids and now 18 grandkids simple but fun. Several years ago joined Tony Acoustic Challenge to increase my 3 chord vocabulary and start my real guitar journey. I again stop because of treatment for prostate Cancer Dx – Agent Orange connected 2 tours in VN. Again I Joined TAC 2019 but had complications from abdominal blockages after surgery and further disability. The surgery did not go well ended up at Palo Alto VA for 6 months plus home care until June 2020. Consequently, I lost my Chiropractic practice and now considered 100% disabled. I signed up a THIRD time to TAC trying to find peace of mind and fill my time and energy with guitar. Still in and out of the VA plus rehab has left my practice time on hold. My wife said get out of bed and try playing the blues! As of today 4/7/21 my energy and health are back sort of – crazy I have been a member for 3 years without enough strength to play or desire to play guitar. My guitar goal is to make playing guitar fun and want to play! Not to be caught up in detail – but learn one step at a time.

Sooo Now, I am re-committed to continue my guitar journey and the sound of music will enlighten my soul and give me a mentally happy place to be in.

Having a go-to – easy to navigate – website that is full of like-minded guitar geeks will be empowering me and keep me accountable along my quest.

I want to have fun in my life again and learning to play songs for my grandkids is the reason

I want to get up in the morning and get the rock and roll on.

I am grateful to Tony for his dedication and commitment on my behalf…. Dave
