  • Trying to Get Old Lessons

Posted by hoopfan1yahoo-com on October 27, 2023 at 7:01 am

I arrow back to try to see older lessons that I missed and when I click on a day, nothing happens. How can I go back and see lessons that I have missed? Thx!

I pretty much try to save everything, if you know the name of it and what day it fell on (technique, lick, improv, rhythm, chord trans) go to my profile and click on my favorites, you should find it.

If it is within the month you can go back to it by clicking in the challenge listing. If you marked it as a favorite you can go to your favorites. If neither then you can perhaps use the Joe T work around. My hard part is remembering the cutesy titles.

The fact that you are saying that clicking on a day does nothing makes me think that you are on the wrong page. Here is a thread with a walkthrough that shows how to look at all of the lessons for the month.

Note that these all reset this weekend.

@hoopfan1yahoo-com Hopefully the previous explanations made sense to you. If not, let us know. Another tip is to highlight all the lessons of the month from the menu at the left of the daily challenges. Then right click your mouse and hit print, print to pdf, print selection, and then save the list to your computer by the month and year. Then you’ll have all the names and days of the lessons. Makes it a lot easier to find a lesson from a previous month that you want to revisit if you’ve saved it in your favorites, or if you look under someone else’s saved favorites. You’ll know exactly where to look for the name of the lesson.

I just got a real surprise today. For the first time in a while, I opened an email from TAC and skimmed through most of it. Toward the bottom, there was a link that said, “Last Month’s Routine.” The link address was https://t.dripemail2.com/c/eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJhdWQiOiJkZXRvdXIiLCJpc3MiOiJtb25vbGl0aCIsInN1YiI6ImRldG91cl9saW5rIiwiaWF0IjoxNjk5Nzk0NjU1LCJuYmYiOjE2OTk3OTQ2NTUsImFjY291bnRfaWQiOiI5NTEwNTYxIiwiZGVsaXZlcnlfaWQiOiJ6dG03enl0d2hobGVqa3l4MGNldiIsInVybCI6Imh0dHBzOi8vdG9ueXBvbGVjYXN0cm8uY29tL2NvdXJzZXMvb2N0b2Jlci1ndWl0YXItcm91dGluZS0yLTIvP19fcz11endwcHB0a3pxcWpwb2prd3MycyZ1dG1fc291cmNlPWRyaXAmdXRtX21lZGl1bT1lbWFpbCZ1dG1fY2FtcGFpZ249VGhpcyt3ZWVrJTNBK3R1cm4raGVhZHMrd2l0aCt0aGlzK2NhbXBmaXJlK2NsYXNzaWMifQ.soQQAa6k33nkY9TET-t3VO0X5IIwC9GIS1VscDiin8c.

Sure enough, after logging into TAC, clicking that link took me to the completion page listing the October lessons all marked “complete.” I went into the TAC site to see if there was a way I could do that from within the TAC framework, and I could not find one.

When I joined TAC in 2017, it used to be a simple matter to navigate to last months lessons from within the site. Why would they put a link like this in an email but not make an easy path from within the site? Or am I missing something??

I also recognized the link in the email and was wondering how to access that overview of previous month from within TAC.

I recently had a few of such surprises on the actual web sites. Things that I didn’t recognize before, like that shopping cart icon or the wall of love. So my feeling is that they slowly add some new features. Probably one of the most frequently asked questions here in the forum is how to access older lessons. It would be great if that need of people is seen and added. On the one hand, it doesn’t make much sense that content is only accessible if you took the chance to add it to your personal list of favs. On the other hand, one of TACs unique selling points is that you should not need to worry what to play. Do the daily challenge, don’t look back to missed challenges, don’t feel the need to catch up. From that perspective, easy access to all previous challenges would break the concept and could render TAC to be yet another guitar tutorial page.

When I joined TAC, they had a library that had all the lessons available at any time. It never confused me or tempted me to do anything that I thought hindered my learning. It only enhanced the experience and made things more organized (versus “favoriting” every lesson.) I guess the problem is strictly one from a sales and profitability point of view. If they make the whole library of lessons available when you first join, someone could theoretically join for a month and access all the lessons, perhaps finding a way to archive them to use even after they quit paying. I can’t see any other reason for taking away a capability that very much enhanced my learning experience.

I would take the old-old TAC (2017 vintage, before it got reorganized in 2018 into a very forum-rich experience that subsequently got abandoned) in a heartbeat.

Seems to me if you have a lifetime membership or have been a member for 3 you should have easy access to the past classes. I tried favorites but the lessons titles don’t lend to easy lookup. If one wanted to spend the time having elaborate bookmarks in their bowser would work.
