“What He Thinks of Me” original- (very early stages)
This a song I’ve been working on for maybe two months now. This is the actual second attempt at recording it- (first one was not pretty).
Please remember it’s in its very early stages- waaaay too long, and pretty rough- (there are mistakes- just warning you- but that’s OK for where it’s at in its development.
Consider it a “before” version……
Listen thru your headphones for better vocal volume/clarity.
All comments and criticisms are very welcome- (that’s how we get better). You’re not gonna hurt my feelings.

Love the concept Mark ( @the-old-coach )🤩👏👏👏 Great lyrics and I really like what you’re doing with the chords. I couldn’t see your fretting hand but it sounded like a lot of play with chord extensions and 7th chords etc., which resulted in some “tonal” walk downs – that I loved hearing🎸 When I saw the title of the song I thought, “I didn’t think Mark was that religious”. But when I heard your lyrics, I laughed a little to myself and thought, “I shoulda known better”. And the more I listened to them (lyrics), the more I thought about myself looking into a mirror and wondering some of the same things – great job Mark – getting the listener to put themselves into your shoes!!!!
I can’t wait to hear the finished version👍
As a side note, do we have a zoom meeting coming this Tuesday???

I thought that your chording & guitar sounded clear and beautiful ~ you’ve got a great foundation laid with the lyrics too!
I will throw in my 2 cents (because you asked for feedback)… I wished I could’ve seen less of that mic and more of your guitar & hands here…just my very uneducated opinion.
Thankyou for sharing Mark, I found your song to bethought provoking ~ especially since that “woman in the mirror” is looking so “mature” 🙂

At least it is not autobiographical right. About a friend? Shows some songwriting development being reenforced by fretboard knowledge and chord skills. Way to go.

Really like the chord progressions and arrangement. Kudos on having the courage to post and the humility to welcome feedback. It’s sometimes painful to hear oneself in a recording but it’s a powerful tool to improve! Remember are our own harshest critics.
