What’s next?
Posted by Ron-A on January 13, 2025 at 8:58 amOK, I’ve completed the 90 day challenge and the 5 day routine. What’s next and where do I jump in? Do I just go to the daily challenge or is there a natural progression with each week? thanks.

Time to jump into the daily challenges. Since this is a benchmark week, it is a great starting point with “Ain’t No Sunshine” song to monitor your progress as you move forward. Enjoy the journey!

Hi TerriG,
Just finished day five of this benchmark Daily Challenge week. What happens on the weekend? Do I just work on this weeks music? Thanks.

You can enjoy your weekend, but if you want to keep going there’s the skill courses and of course you can go back and repeat any lesson from the current week or current month. There is a file circulating around that gives you access to all lessons from the past 18 months plus. Let me know if you want that and I’ll drop the link.

Thanks. I have plenty I can do with what was presented this week. Thanks again.

Welcome to the TAC community Ron! Congrats on completing the 30 days to play, and 5 day routine. Don’t forget to take the next 6 chords and stretching courses that are all part of the getting started routine.
Most people begin the daily challenges, but this is your journey. I personally recommend the daily challenges, and when you can (weekends are great times) check out the skills courses. Take whatever interests you. There’s no set pathway. Everyone is different. I personally recommend the Jumpstart to Flatpicking and fingerpicking and the strumming courses.

Hi Ron,
The weekend is your free time to review the previous weeks lessons, jump into the skill section of the course or learn a song you like on Youtube. I agree with Lorraine in her recommendation of practicing the strumming, flatpicking or fingerpicking sections. Those skills will help you immensely as you move forward. The other thing you can do is practice the chord transitions (G-C, G-D, C-F, etc.) and try to time yourself in the various beats if you can.
For me, I try to go back to previous lessons I like and practice them. As time goes on, you’ll have 52 weeks of songs and skills to chose from. Remember to “heart” the lesson so you can reference it again afterwards. Also, if you like the course and want to know more, the Fretboard Wizard is great just to get a handle on theory and perfect for weekends. I believe in the skill section there is a beginner course of Fretboard so you can see if you like it or not. Good luck to you and congratulations on finishing your first benchmark week!
