    Perplexity.ai:

When considering which song is easiest for a beginning acoustic guitar player to learn among “Ain’t No Sunshine,” “Wagon Wheel,” “Hotel California,” and “Old Man,” the following insights can be drawn:

    Song Difficulty Comparison

    Recommendations

    • Wagon Wheel is widely recognized as one of the easiest songs for beginners due to its simple
chord progression (G, D, A minor, C) and repetitive structure. Many beginners find it enjoyable to play and sing along to.
    • Ain’t No Sunshine and Old Man have moderate difficulty levels due to their fingerpicking patterns and
chord changes but are still manageable for beginners with some practice.
    • Hotel California, while iconic, is generally considered more challenging because of its intricate chords and transitions. It is better suited for players who have gained some experience.

In conclusion, for a beginner acoustic guitar player looking for an easy song to learn, Wagon Wheel is the best choice among the options provided.

Why choose? They all have different emotional pulls. Eat the whole buffet! But I’m lazy so I go with whatever is being presented this month.

Seriously, I have found that the quarterly goals are a sometimes overlooked part of the TAC guitar journey. By focusing only on daily challenges one can lose the flight path. It is like only looking at the flight instruments on the panel and forgetting to get your head out of the cockpit and see the horizon and the beauty of the journey. Make a few quarterly goals and don’t forget that they are there while doing the daily challenges.

The end of the quarter is arriving soon.

As a former Navy P-3 pilot, I completely understand the comment. But I’m only flying Cessna’s, as much as I’d like to fly a F-22 [Old Man], it’s beyond me right now.

I totally agree with @albert_d. Focus regarding the quarterly goals is easlily lost. Expecially since there are no more quarterly progress partys. I always enjoyed them a lot because they made me think much more intensly and longer about my (flight) journey and the next goal compared to the new goal setting after the Daily Challenges at the end of each quarter. It helped me to stay on track for a quarter much more.

Jim, those are some great songs, and yes, with the F chord in Hotel California, it might be more challenging.

I think of these songs as more advanced beginner. For a newer person, it might help to focus on even simpler songs with 2 or 3 chords. Simply google beginner songs with 2 chords (or 3 chords) for acoustic guitar.
